Solution

Private AI for companies that can't send data to the cloud.

When counsel or company policy says client files, records, or internal data cannot go to ChatGPT or Claude, the system has to run on hardware inside your office. Answers cite their sources. Outbound internet is blocked, so there is no route for the data to leave. Select Interactive designs, builds, and can operate that system. You own the hardware.

Who This Is For

Who this is for

  1. Law firms and legal teams

    01

Privileged documents, matter files, and work product that counsel will not send to a third party, even under an enterprise contract.

  2. Medical practices and clinics

    02

Records and other protected health information that have to stay on systems you control, with a path that can support a HIPAA deployment.

  3. Financial advisors and wealth teams

    03

Client files and planning documents that should not sit on a vendor’s servers, even when the vendor says it will not train on them.

  4. Agencies and operators under NDA

    04

Client work, contracts, and internal records where the agreement forbids disclosure to a third party, not merely training.

  5. Enterprises with a data-stays-here policy

    05

Large corporate, industrial, and commercial organizations whose rule is broader than any single regulation: company data does not go to a vendor cloud, and none of it trains a model the company does not own. The policy applies whether or not a regulator wrote it.

Not for

General productivity with no rule against third-party processing. If frontier models and a fast rollout matter more than where the bytes sit, enterprise cloud seats are often the better buy, and we will say so.

Enterprise cloud still sends the files out

ChatGPT Enterprise and Claude Enterprise process prompts and documents on the vendor’s infrastructure. A contract that limits training, retention, or region is a real control. It is not the same as the files never leaving your network. If counsel or a regulator forbids third-party disclosure, the enterprise plan does not meet the requirement. The comparison of those products against a server you own is linked below.

  • No-training and zero-retention terms still mean a vendor receives the content.
  • Air-gap, privilege, PHI, NDA, and corporate data policy rules are about disclosure, not only about model training.
Attributed history and recovery points

Private means the building is the boundary

Models, retrieval, chat history, and backups run on a dedicated server on its own network segment. General outbound internet is blocked at the firewall. Approved maintenance uses a separate channel you control, opened for a scheduled window and closed again.

  • TLS in transit and full-disk encryption at rest.
  • Individual accounts, role-based access, and an audit log of who reached what.
  • On-site backups, not a third-party cloud bucket.

A workspace for the documents you already have

The first system is a private workspace, not a science project. People ask questions, draft from their own precedents, and see the source documents behind every answer.

  • Secure chat over your internal network.
  • Document answers with citations a person can open and check.
  • Drafting and summarizing from files already in the building.
  • A document watcher that re-indexes new and changed files without a manual upload step.
One dataset, several role-specific doors

Sensitive data, without a fake certificate

The architecture can support a HIPAA deployment through role-based access, audit logging, encryption, local processing, and a Business Associate Agreement when we act as a business associate. Compliance also depends on your administrative, physical, and operational controls, which we review with your privacy stakeholders. The same technical controls can support legal, financial, and NDA-bound data, subject to each organization’s requirements. We do not claim a certification the deployment has not earned.

How We Work

Hardware comes after the prototype

The risk in this kind of project is buying a server for a use case that does not hold up. Discovery answers that before any capital spend. The full engagement model lives on the private on-premise AI service page.

We interview the team, take a sample of the documents, and build a prototype you can watch answer real questions. No server is purchased until that use case is proven, which is also how the machine gets sized.

We specify a dedicated server you own, assemble and secure it, then install it on site: network isolation, internal DNS, and a check that the system is unreachable from the internet.

Documents are loaded, answer quality is tuned, accounts and roles are set, and the team learns how to verify an answer against its cited sources.

We can run patches, model upgrades, monitoring, and scheduled maintenance. Your team still owns network approvals, access decisions, and compliance policy. If you stop the managed service later, you keep the hardware and the data.

FAQ

Questions from teams who cannot send the files

Production documents, prompts, embeddings, model inference, chat history, logs, and backups stay on hardware inside your network. General outbound internet access is blocked at the firewall. Approved maintenance uses a separate channel you control, opened for a scheduled window and disabled again when the work is done.

No. Discovery produces a working prototype on sample documents before any hardware is purchased. That prototype is also how we size the server, so you do not buy the wrong machine.

Those products are vendor-hosted. Enterprise terms can limit training, retention, and where inference runs, and they still process your files on the vendor’s systems. A private on-premise system keeps models and documents on hardware you own, with outbound internet blocked. Neither is better for every office. The comparison article walks through data path, cost shape, and when each one fits.

We can handle model upgrades, security patches, monitoring, and scheduled maintenance as a managed service. Your team still owns network approvals, identity and access decisions, facilities, and compliance policy. Stopping managed operations does not take the hardware or the data away from you.
